LOMO Theme

Just a piece of my artwork in LOMO theme. “Lomography” is a term quite unknown to most of us, but many practice it. The name was inspired and derived from the Russian “LOMO” cameras. Lomography not only refers to photographs taken with the LOMO camera, but can also apply to casual photography taken with any ordinary camera. Just like what I did. Well, this is my first LOMO artwork taken in Borneo. Well, how is it? Share your opinion and comment here too. Peace ^_-

Hirsutism (Excessive Hairiness on Women)

Wikipedia Source
What is Hirsutism or Frazonism and Hypertricosis Universalis (Werewolf syndrome)?  It is a condition where women have excess facial and body hair that is dark and coarse. The abnormal hair growth usually happens on the body where men typically grow hair, on the chest, face, and back.

About half of women with hirsutism have high levels of male sex hormones, called androgens. High levels of these hormones can be caused by:
  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) -- may also cause infertility
  • Tumors on the adrenal glands or ovaries
  • Cushing syndrome
  • Medications that can cause hair growth (dverse effect) -- phenytoin, minoxidil, diazoxide, cyclosporine, and hexachlorobenzene
  • Anabolic steroids
  • Danazol -- used to treat endometriosis
  • Insulin resistance
  • Stromal Hyperthecosis - in postmenopausal women
  • Obesity: As there is peripheral conversion of androgens to estrogen in these patients, this is the same mechanism as polycystic ovary syndrome, PCOS.

Bone Marrow Treatment Transforms 16-Year-Old Girl Into 40-Year-Old Bearded Man-http://beijingcream.com

A girl from China who was treated for aplastic anemia in 2010 with a large dose of drugs has turned hairy in various parts of her body, including her face.

The following factors may increase your risk of hirsutism:
  • Genetics -- some conditions that cause hirsutism may be inherited.
  • Race and ethnicity -- women of European, Middle Eastern, and South Asian ancestry are more likely to develop the condition

Liu Jiangli, Chinese Schoolgirl Aged 6, Is Covered In Black Fur. A Chinese schoolgirl who is partially covered in black fur has been adopted after she was abandoned by her birth family.
Liu Jiangli, now six, was born with a thick coating of black fur on the left side of her face, as well as patches of it across 60per cent of her body.

Liu, from Zhongjie village, Qingzhen, southwest China’s Guizhou Province, also has black hair inside her left ear. At the age of two her mother left the family home and shortly afterwards, her father took her to a kindergarten but never came back.
The kindergarten made newspaper announcements asking for the toddler’s relatives to claim her, and six months later the grandfather of one of her cousins came forward.

Liu Mingying has looked after Liu ever since, but worries he won’t be able to afford to pay for her education, and is concerned she will always be taunted about her appearance.

"It's very itchy," Liu told Rex Features, as she scratched the patches of hair, adding: “But it’s not painful.”

Mingying, a maize farmer admitted he felt uncomfortable about the little girl's condition, but now accepts her completely and even jokes about her huge appetite.

The 48-year-old wants to send Liu to school but is put off by his neighbours’ comments and that she might “scare the other kids in the school.”

There is currently no official explanation for Liu’s condition, although it does appear reminiscent of a syndrome known as Hypertricosis Universalis, which leaves sufferers covered entirely in body hair.

Are you willing to care for another human being without looking at race and nationality?

Malaysia is a country of growing cultures, ethnics, race and religion.

In the recent years, refugees from neighbouring countries and afar have been adding to the country's population, taking up local jobs in search of a means to get by.

from UNHCR page
According to UNHCR Malaysia, there are currently 94,800 refugeesand asylum-seekers registered under them (as of September 2011) and an estimated 10,000 more that are unregistered. The staggering numbers consist of about 71% men, 29% women and about 19,200 children below the age of 18.

from UNHCR page
Unlike migrants, refugees do not choose to leave their countries but are forced to do so for reasons such as armed conflict, serious public disorder and complex human rights issues. Refugees in Malaysia leave their homelands with little or no support and require the help of organizations such as the UNHCR to find long term solutions to their situations.

from UNHCR page
In order to rise up above adversity, refugees require your initial support, donation and sponsorship in order to begin a new life of self-reliance.

The first step towards understanding is to learn about refugees. Contact the UNHCR here on this link to find out how you can assist refugees in Malaysia.

Fear, isolation and violence that only YOU can help to take away...

The fight for survival is a daily battle for refugees and asylum seekers in Malaysia. Coming from countries such as Burma, refugees are forced to flee from their homelands in pursuit of safety from oppressive conditions such as confiscation of homes, forced labor, systematic rape and torture. However, their efforts to gain freedom in Malaysia are short-lived due to discrimination from local employers.

Refugees and asylum seekers work in situations where they face verbal and physical abuse from employers, low/unpaid wages, and long working hours in exploitative conditions.

Question is, where is the humanity in all of this?

Sign a petition to stop the violence, fear, and isolation involved in human trafficking. Agree to stand up against forced labor and human trafficking by signing a Petition Letter to the Prime Minister of Malaysia today! Petition available here :

Lyric:

Breakin' out, about to shout
Feel the need for one more round
Don't you struggle, don't try to bite
You want some trouble, I'm the king of vice
I'm a wreckin' ball, I'm a stingin' knife
Steal your money, gonna take your life
You got screamin' murder, lock up your door
Double dealin' gotta have more
Call me dirty, trash my name
Just tell (the? my?) boys that I'm gonna be

CHORUS:
Back in business again
Back in business again
Back in business again
Back in business again
(Back in business)
Flesh and blood, I'm a rag 'n' bone
Bad luck message on the telephone
Don't you worry, play my game
I'll do you a favor, put your soul for sale
Like a cannon ball, goin' down the track
Need good lovin' but I want it back
I was born in trouble, they gave up on me
Teacher preachin' what not to be
Call me dirty, trash my name
Just tell my boys that I'm gonna be

REPEAT CHORUS

Solo

REPEAT CHORUS (twice)
